My experience with unemployment was very frustrating in the beginning. I could never get through to someone and their phone line stayed busy or rerouted me through many menus.
One day I tried one of the help numbers on the unemployment website. Even though it stated the number was for appeals, I called it anyway.
I left a message with the Unemployment Appeal Hotline, and was called back immediately by Bruce Luu. He helped me get answers and my claim was completed quickly.
A couple weeks later, had some problems with my payment and Bruce helped me again! I was back on track with my payments in 24 hours with no problems. The Unemployment Hotline is a great team, and I am very appreciative of their services.

I am so fortunate that I found this incredible helpful website and then contacted Mr. Luu for help. He was quick to get to the points he needed to know, was courteous and professional. He explained the process, what he was going to do and what he wanted me to do. He helped me to prepare my formal letter of appeal with the right documents and information. I was treated with complete attention.
Before the hearing was held on the appeal, the EDD reversed the determination and paid my five weeks benefit being held. Then I received a decision from the Office of Appeals dismissing my case.
